Some of the most challenging times I've experienced  in my life have been a result of the premature birth of both of my children. The complicated pregnancies, early births, sick babies, surgeries, and endless doctor appointments were are challenging, but they've also made me who I am today; I am a better husband and father because of it.

I want to introduce you to my new blog project - The Preemie Dads Blog!

I have been thinking about doing something like this for some time now, but I guess the pending premature birth of my 2nd son was enough to kick me in gear (it's happening tomorrow - Tuesday 1/4).  My ultimate goal and vision for "PreemieDads" is for it to be a place for support and resources for Dads with Preemies in the NICU and Beyond. I also have included a discussion boardf to help build the community!

With the blog, I have started a new twitter account - @PreemieDads.  So go follow me (especially tomorrow it is from this account that I will be providing updates about my new son.

So if you are a preemie dad, going to be a preemie dad, know a preemie dad, or are interested in preemies or dads, head over and check it out!!

Wordless Wednesday: Preemie Flashback

We just found out that due to numerous complication and pre-term contractions my wife is having that our second son will be born next week.  My wife will be 35 weeks along.  Our first son was born at 30 weeks, so we are much more comfortable with 35, but he's still a preemie and we are praying that we don't have to spend much time in the NICU!  In honor of that, this is a picture of my son about 2 months old, cannot believe how huge his clothes were!
