To give you some ideas of where to start, I am going to give you a sneak peak of the results from a survey of I have conducted with about 40 wives. Here is one of the questions I asked:
On a scale from 1-10 (1-low, 10-high), how would you rank YOUR husband in the following qualities?
- Romantic, Selfless, Faithful, Sensitive, Attentive, Honest, Motivated
- Romantic - This does not surprise me. This is and will probably be one of the greatest opportunities for husbands. A lot of time being romantic does not come naturally, so you consistently need to think about how to romance your wife... just like before you were married! (relevant posts: Date Your Wife Archive, Surprises)
- Sensitive - Sadly, again, not a surprise here. Although I know that when I got married and had children I somehow, naturally got more sensitive! Being sensitive to your wife means listening, putting her needs above your when needed, and giving her a shoulder to cry on. (relevant posts: Humility, The Power of Talking)
- Motivated - OK, I have to admit now that this was was a little surprising to me. Are you not a motivated husband or father? One write in comment I received from a wife said "Be a little more self motivated, either around the house or in his career." Not sure what to even say about this one, just go be motivated! You've been given a wonderful blessing of a wife and/or children and go and do what you need to do to take care of them (physically, spiritually, emotionally, etc.) (relevant posts: Step Up and Be a Man)
