5 Ways to be a Better Husband: #5 - Date Your Wife

The final installment in the  Top 5 Ways to be a Better Husband series.

#1 - Saying "I love you"
#2 - Service
#3 - Hold Hands
#4 -  Surprises!

 #5 - Date Night
I love Date Night! One of the first things that I did when I start this blog was to include a weekly Date Your Wife date idea (see the Date Your Wife Archive page). I think that when you spend regular quality time with your wife, it will pay huge dividends in your relationship.

The Holidays can be an especially busy and stressful time, so slow down and go on a date with your wife! When planning a date with your wife consider the following:
  • Be creative - Think outside of the box! These can be the most fun dates.  I must confess I am not creative, but I do try to be.  Your wife will be so impressed that you spent the time and effort to plan a creative date! (that being said, not all dates needs to be creative - there's nothing wrong with dinner and a movie).
  • Have fun - When you are laughing and smiling together it really forms a bond between you. Go play games or even to an arcade, go do what you find fun!
  • Talk to her - This is one of the most important parts of a date. My wife and I used to just go to a movie for a date.  It was still fun to have this time together, but we never even talked! if you like movie dates, make sure to schedule time to talk before or after (dinner or dessert??).
  • Prioritize - Life is busy, make date night a priority.  This means plan for it. Whether you do it every Saturday, every other Saturday, or the first Saturday of every month; plan for it and don't let things get in the way.
