So, I decided to do did a little experiment... I called upon the all-powerful and all-knowing Google and asked him (her?) a question: "What is the key to a happy marriage?" Prior to hitting the "enter" key I had already decided to pick the top search result and share the first idea that was mentioned. I was not disappointed with what I found! So, you want to know the ultimate key to a happy marriage?...
"Keep your mind on your main goal, which is to have a happy marriage"
I love how beautifully simple this is - the key to having a happy marriage is to try! to focus on it and keep it at the front of your mind. It is true too, think of a time when you weren't happy in your marriage... during that time (or leading up to it) were you focusing on trying to have a happy marriage? probably not. Were you constantly reminding yourself of your goal to have a happy marriage? doubt it.
This also speaks to priorities. When we have decided to make a happy marriage our goal, it should take priority over almost everything, especially if we are trying to "re-build" a happy marriage. When we make decisions, make them with your marriage in mind; make them with your wife's feelings, desires, and happiness in mind.
