There are times in a man's life where you are expected to step-up, be a man, and take care of business. This is one of those times for me.
If you follow my tweets, you may already know part of the story...
My wife is 15 weeks pregnant and about a week ago she woke up bleeding. As you know, during pregnancy this is always concerning, so we called the doctor and waited until the next day (it was Sunday) and went to get an ultrasound to see what was up. During our visit we were re-assured that it was just a small bleed away from the placenta, so no biggie. Unfortunately the Doctor looked at the pictures and called back the next day saying it was actually at the placenta and that my wife needed to "take it easy" and "lay down as much as possible." After a subsequent visit with the doctor we learn that it is a "subchorionic Hemorrhage," that its fairly common, and has a good prognosis, but.... THIS IS THE SAME THING THAT HAPPENED LAST TIME!!!!
This is where I come in. I have to step up and take care of my wife and son. Due to the Doctor's suggestion, I have made it my job to do most things around the house (cook, clean, etc) so my wife can "take it easy." This is not going to be easy. This will take hard work and patience, but I know I will do everything I possibly can for my wife and the health of our unborn baby.
Situations like this don't happen often, but when they do, be ready to step up.
Have you had to do this before? How did you deal with it? in what other ways do you have to Step up for your Wife and/or kid(s)?
