The Date: Husband and wife are pulled their separate ways on a daily basis. If not careful this can lead to growing apart from each other. To combat this, I am a huge proponent of pillow talk, but often just catching up on the day is not enough. We will have a conversation for our date this week! When I say a conversation, I mean we will turn off the TV, phones, computer, and all distractions and have an in depth meaningful exchange.
If you don't know what to talk about, I recently came across a great resource! The Romantic Vineyard blog has a list of great conversation starters for married couples. If you are anything like me, you could really use the help on what to talk about. Sometimes I think that we've talked about everything, but check out the list and you will find some good thought provoking topics and questions that will really help you out.
The Challenge: This is something everybody can do. I challenge you to turn off all distractions and just have a conversation with your wife. Share your thoughts, feelings, dreams, or whatever else you want to. I promise you, your marriage will benefit from it. Like always, Let me know your date plans for this weekend in the comments!
The Cost: Free!
Update: So this date was great! We actually decided to go out to dinner too, so I actually printed out a list of questions and brought them to the restaurant! It was very fun and I was able to learn some things from talking to her too! I highly recommend doing this, I felt very close to my wife as we talked about the past, present and future.
