A Reponse to "Where Have All the Good Men Gone?"

Last Summer I wrote a blog post in reaction to an article from The Atlantic.  The article as it turned out was pretty biased and it was clear the female author had anti-man tendencies.  I have found a similar article, this time from the Wall Street Journal and this time a little bit worse.  The article is title "Where have all the Good Men Gone?" Go take a read and let me know what you think.

The article did have a little bit of value, it spoke of an emerging life period called pre-adulthood.  It describes the 20-something males that are not motivated to take on adult responsibilities, but would rather play video games and watch Star Wars.  I do think this exists and I agree with her up to this point, however, the rest of the article appears to be man-bashing from a woman who has obviously dated some losers.  In fact she is the author of a book titled, "I Don't Care About Your Band: What I Learned from Indie Rockers, Trust Funders, Pornographers, Felons, Faux-Sensitive Hipsters and Other Guys I've Dated."

...and with quotes like the following, its hard to take her seriously:
"Today, however, with women moving ahead in our advanced economy, husbands and fathers are now optional, and the qualities of character men once needed to play their roles—fortitude, stoicism, courage, fidelity—are obsolete, even a little embarrassing."
I know it exists, but personally I never experienced this pre-adulthood period. In fact, I always felt like I was prematurely old! ...but I love it!  In 2 weeks my wife and I will celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary and I have 2 kids and a career.  I'm still only 27 (although I feel at least 35!).

How do you think this "pre-adulthood" phenomenon has affected society? Did you experience "pre-adulthood"?
