Family Movie Night - "Truth Be Told"

This past weekend I had the unique opportunity of pre-screening a movie titled "Truth Be Told" that will air as Part of "Family Movie Night" on Saturday, April 16th on FOX at 8pm/7ct.

First, let me say that the Family Movie Night idea is a great one. There is so much garbage on TV these days, it is awesome to have time set aside for a movie that will be appropriate for the whole family. Not only will the movie be appropriate, but the Family Movie Night website states that the advertising will also be appropriate! Way to go Fox! (Family Movie Night is also on Facebook: www.facebook.com/familymovienight).

The Review-

The first thing I noticed about this movie is Candace Cameron Brue! You may remember her as D.J. from Full House!  I watched Full House all the time and It was fun to see her on screen again!

It was obvious that this movie was made with the Family Movie Night mission in mind.  It was entertaining, appropriate for all ages, and it had fun things in it for the whole family (it even included guest appearance by Danny Gokey of American Idol fame!). While it might not win awards for its acting, I do highly recommend tuning in to Truth Be Told (Saturday, April 16th on FOX at 8pm/7ct)

Lessons Learned-

One reason why this is good for the whole family is the lessons that are learned about telling lies and honesty. This movie depicts how one lie leads to many others.  At one point even the children, while not involved in the original lie, were dragged in and started participating.  It was at this point that the truth came out.

The most important thing learned about this movie is this - No matter how hard it is to get out from underneath your lies, it is important that you do so, no matter the consequences.  While my children are too young for a discussion on this topic, this movie provides a great segway to the conversation of honesty at all costs.

So remember to tune in this Saturday with your family and enjoy!
